Bash for Bikes Returns
Colorado Multisport/Superfly Cycles is pleased to announce Bash for Bikes II in benefit of World Bicycle Relief on Friday, August 3, from 7 to 10 p.m. World Champion triathletes Craig Alexander, Mirinda Carfrae and Tim O’Donnell will be joined by Tour de France contender Tom Danielson for a fun and entertaining evening of food, drink and stories. Chef Biju Thomas of Skratch Labs will prepare delicious local food, while West End Wine Merchant and Boulder Beer will round out the drink menu.
Bash for Bikes founders Amelie and Lucy
Two other celebrities will be present at the event, Amelie Panaccione, daughter of Colorado Multisport’s co-owners Celesta Howe and Chuck Panaccione, and Lucy Alexander, daughter of Ironman World Champion Craig Alexander. The two six-year-old girls held a lemonade stand last summer to benefit World Bicycle Relief, raising funds to support fellow girl students in Africa with the life changing gift of a bicycle. From this lemonade stand, Bash for Bikes was born with a successful first benefit in December of 2011 that raised $34,000.The community is now supporting the remarkable work started by Amelie and Lucy in line with Colorado’s most prestigious triathlon of the year – the Ironman 70.3 Boulder.
Alongside a gourmet dinner and stories, Bash for Bikes II will offer a silent/live auction which features high-performance and one-of-a-kind items for cyclists and triathletes. Items at the auction include carbon road frames, Zipp wheels and signed pro-athlete memorabilia. Event tickets are $100 and limited to 125 people.
