Team World Bicycle Relief: Carson Christen

Triathlete Carson Christen of Boulder, Colorado has always aspired to show those around him how cycling can improve their health and productivity--and now he’s adding how it can fight global poverty to the list. After a collegiate swimming career, Carson is both a triathlete and a bike commuter. This year he’s set his athletic goals high, hoping to land in the Top 3 of the Hyvee 5150 Age Group Championships, complete his first half-Ironman, and achieve a pro-card by next season. He’s set his philanthropic goals high too, planning to raise $1,340 for World Bicycle Relief!

Carson explains his passion for the Power of Bicycles, “World Bicycle Relief is the epitome of a world class philanthropy organization dedicated to helping others live not only a more productive but healthy life. Increasing productivity, decreasing time restrictions of walking and allowing the people of Africa the chance to accomplish more per day is important. Rather than taking money and sending items that may or may not help people, World Bicycle Relief takes a 100% useful device to help those in need!”

Another thing Carson loves about WBR is the elimination of the “middle man”. He explains, “Constructing the bikes in the field by WBR trained mechanics adds to the realness of the organization.”

Thanks for your support, Carson, and welcome to the team!
