Team World Bicycle Relief: David Schofield
Team World Bicycle Relief welcomes David Schofield! David, a triathlete from Gainesville, Florida, has set a fundraising goal of 5 bicycles. David’s first race as a member of Team World Bicycle Relief was the Jacksonville Beaches Fine Arts Sprint on July 14th. Over the next year, he plans to participate in team races with the TriGators UF Triathlon Club, culminating in a half-ironman. David’s ultimate goal is to race Ironman France, hopefully as soon as Summer 2013!
David doesn’t just ride for sport--commuting to school and work is also a part of his daily life. So he fully understands the Power of Bicycles--especially when his commuter bike is down for repair! In those moments, he realizes how much someone can depend on a bike to get around efficiently. David says, “I can only imagine how much of a difference a bike makes to the people World Bicycle Relief impacts with their programs. By joining Team World Bicycle Relief, I hope to raise awareness for the cause and support their programs, which greatly improve one’s opportunities through the use of a bicycle.”
