Team World Bicycle Relief: Lyndsey Robinson
Team WBR welcomes triathlete Lyndsey Robinson of Birmingham, Alabama. This year, Lyndsey anticipates being on the podium in her first Olympic Tri--Beach Blast at Mexico Beach, Florida and plans to finish her first 70.3 in Kansas this summer.
Lyndsey has been involved in non-profit work since she can remember. When she traveled to South Africa recently to work with orphaned children, she saw how much a bicycle would enhance their lives. She explains, “Even in the US, ineffective transportation limits people’s ability to succeed. I have been blessed mentally, physically, & financially, therefore, I feel it’s my duty and desire to return the gifts to those who could use it the most. The independence and mobility that a bike provides is also a ladder upward towards opportunity. I believe that World Bicycle Relief provides that and I want to proclaim it.”
Lyndsey has also seen cycling heal her own mind and body and give her purpose. After suffering years of injury, she began swimming and cycling to rehab her mind and body. “I support World Bicycle Relief because they give people that same opportunity to move forward from the challenges they experience.”
Lyndsey hopes to raise $6,700 throughout the next year! Thanks for your support, Lyndsey!
