Microfinance
Mobility = Market Access
Since 2007, World Bicycle has partnered with a variety of local microfinance institutions in several African countries to give access to World Bicycle Relief bicycles to small entrepreneurs, households and communities. Loans typically range from 6 to 18 months and are generally paid back from increased profits earned from the added productivity of owning a World Bicycle Relief bicycle. Bikes are commonly used to transport agricultural goods to market, to bring farm equipment and supplies to rural villages, and to bring people to markets, often times across great distances from their homes.
