AIM Academy, which also raised funds for WBR last year, started its project in November 2017. This year, students in 1st through 5th grades used it as an opportunity to learn about Zambia and its culture, as well as WBR’s work there.
Through an “In Their Shoes” lesson, students studied members of Zambia’s Palabana community who had received Buffalo Bicycles. In addition to learning about their daily lives, the students witnessed the powerful impact of bicycles.
Over the course of four months, the students hoped to raise 14 Buffalo Bicycles by hosting a series of fundraisers:
For all their hard work, AIM Academy students surpassed their goal, raising enough for 18 Buffalo Bicycles. Their generous donation will make a tremendous impact on lives in rural Africa.
Thank you, AIM Academy! Your support of World Bicycle Relief means the world to us – and the many students, healthcare workers and entrepreneurs who will benefit from your hard work.
