This year, 7,305 people around the world took the 30 Days of Biking pledge. This community of joyful riders rode their bikes in rain and sunshine, for long distances and quick trips, to work and to play. They also rallied their communities to raise $11,805 for World Bicycle Relief, plus a generous match of $3,500 by Surly Brewing Company! Their miles and hard work paid off – a total of $15,305 was raised to bring mobility and 104 life-changing Buffalo Bicycles to those in need!
Reflecting back on the experience, here’s what a couple riders and fundraisers had to say:
“It was awesome to see so many people financially support World Bicycle Relief through my efforts to ride for all 30 days in April. Whether I was riding for fun or commuting, riding every day made me truly realize the power of bicycles. I learned that we can make a difference in this world, even if it’s small, by turning our passion for pedaling into progress and hope for others.” – Lindsey, Colorado Springs, CO
“30 Days of Biking is the perfect combination of doing good in the world and doing good for yourself. We were amazed when 21 of our friends from UK, Europe and Australia were inspired to put money in the hat. The fun times with friends and family, the personal challenges, and renewed desire to carry on biking further, higher and faster, made it a month we’ll never forget.” – Jacinta and Owen, Llanidloes, mid Wales
