The 6th annual CycloFemme event over Mother’s Day weekend (May 12-14) was an enormous success. The cycling community came together to unite riders, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity or bicycle preference to share in the joy of cycling.
And to create exponential positive change, CycloFemme partnered with World Bicycle Relief to raise funds for girls and women in rural Kenya.
Your collective positive impact? More than 270 community-led CycloFemme rides around the world raised over $30,000 to fund 215 Buffalo Bicycles that will empower girls in Kenya to pursue their education and ride toward their dreams. By going the distance together, we can put more bicycles into the hands of girls fighting for their education.
The addition of the social fundraising element to this year’s event encouraged riders to remember how good shared momentum feels. All fundraising dollars were matched by a challenge grant, doubling the number of funded bikes.
Let’s keep the momentum going!
