InGamba rolls toward
$1 million raised for
World Bicycle Relief

Marking its fifth year of partnership with World Bicycle Relief, inGamba Tours is quickly rolling toward $1,000,000 raised.

WBR began working with João Correia, a former professional cyclist, and his inGamba team in 2013. The cycling tour company started donating 2% of their trip sales to WBR and asked its community to consider making a personal gift to match the company’s contribution.

Over the years, support has grown, with inGamba adding many other initiatives to its WBR efforts. These include the addition of Correia’s annual May ride in Mill Valley, CA, exclusive jerseys and a WBR / inGamba-themed trip in Europe. Over the years, these efforts have contributed to the distribution of more than 4,600 bicycles in developing countries. When asked about inGamba’s profound support for WBR, Correia shared:

“We all love our bikes. To us, it means fun. It means stress relief. It means time with friends or time on your own clearing your head. But the bike is more than just a recreational tool for the people WBR are helping – it’s a means to arrive safely and on time to school to get vital medical aid and to improve their economic chances. If cycling is a game for us, for them it’s a game-changer. We’re extremely proud to support World Bicycle Relief.”

Thank you from students at Bumala Secondary School in Western Kenya

To celebrate inGamba’s continued impact on our work, inGamba stickers were affixed to 85 Buffalo bicycles. And on May 9, we worked with our team to distribute the bicycles to the Bumala Secondary School in Western Kenya. In turn, the students created a special video for Correia and the inGamba community. They encouraged supporters to “continue to enjoy their bicycle rides.”

The video made its debut at a dinner in Mill Valley on the eve of Correia’s annual ride that raised $65,000 for WBR. This “representative distribution” demonstrates our gratitude toward inGamba’s awesome commitment to our work and their ability to inspire others to support the Power of Bicycles.

To the inGamba community, please accept our gratitude and know that your support truly makes a difference.
