The 2015 Interbike Awards promises to be as exciting as last year. By popular demand, this year’s event will see the return of Host Alonzo Bodden. Alonzo will be joined on stage by Tina T, who is one of the top female DJs in the country. Tina T is the winner of LA Weekly’s first ever DJ Spin Off battle and a current finalist in season 3 of VH1’s Master of The Mix.
As with 2014, this year’s awards ceremony will once again honor achievements from the current product and race year. But there’s a new twist: World Bicycle Relief will be the beneficiary partner for this year’s gala as Interbike will be donating $10 from each ticket sold to support their efforts.
With a ton of other upgrades and surprises compared to last year, IB Awards attendees will also have the chance to take home a one-of-a-kind SRAM centerpiece through an auction that will also benefit WBR. Interbike will partner with SRAM to dress up the awards night tables and raise even more funds for WBR.
SRAM is excited to showcase the work of Mark Castator in this unique twist on the popular Û÷SRAM pART Project’, explained David Zimberoff, Vice President of Marketing for SRAM. Where in the past we’ve invited many artists to create original works of art to auction off in benefit of World Bicycle Relief – this time, we’ve invited Mark to independently create bike part centerpieces for the Interbike awards dinner. Each table will have the opportunity to bid against their table mates in this extraordinary event. All proceeds from the centerpiece auction will benefit WBR, and with minimum bids starting at $150 we hope to mobilize more than 100 students, healthcare workers and entrepreneurs.
Finally, Interbike is once again partnering with Nutcase Helmets to raise money for World Bicycle Relief while providing exposure for some incredible artists. After having collaborated with Nutcase on new helmet designs that will be introduced at this year’s Interbike, Nutcase Unframed artists Jobert Cruz (Philippines), Carla Barstow (USA) and Tiago DeJerk (Brazil) will be creating original pieces of artwork live on the show floor during all show days. The unique canvases the artists create will then be on display during the IB Awards.
Even more exciting? You could take one home! World Bicycle Relief will be conducting a silent auction of the canvases during the IB Awards. These unique art pieces will go home with the highest bidders, and all proceeds raised go directly to World Bicycle Relief.
