In Memoriam of Max Snyder, long-time friend of WBR

January 23, 1992 – October 2, 2015

A light has left this world. No collection of words can describe our admiration for Max. Max Snyder poured his heart and soul into everything he undertook. He never settled for the ordinary. He exuded kindness, joy, passion, enthusiasm, talent, and was always willing to help others. Max was a longtime friend of World Bicycle Relief and volunteer for us in a variety of projects, on and off the bike. An avid cyclist, Max inspired others around him to take on cycling – always offering encouragement. As a WBR supporter, he lit up when sharing how bicycles change lives. He geeked out over the Buffalo bicycle, and shared his passion and excitement for this with others. Max had a gift for creating impact and change, and inspired those around him to do the same.

Max is a part of our story. We will continue to honor him through our work, mobilizing others through the Power of Bicycles. Max’s light was tragically taken too soon but his spirit will continue to live on.

In this difficult time, our thoughts are with Max’s family and loved ones. We wish you strength and comfort.

Ride on, Max.
