Jan Bechler is an internet entrepreneur and sports lover from Hamburg, Germany. Over the past years Jan has founded several ecommerce companies and international digital marketing agencies. Besides that he is a partner at the OMR Online Marketing Rockstars, Europe’s leading event for the digital industry. Jan loves sports and has played field hockey on a semi-professional level for several years. Besides that he has a passion for skiing and road biking. In 2012 he founded TECHBIKERS Germany, a community event that every year brings together 40 startup founders and investors that go cycling for three days in order to raise funds for World Bicycle Relief.
Dirk first got in touch with World Bicycle Relief through his job at SRAM Corporation where he is a senior sales professional with global long term experience in strategically managing complex key account relationships in the bicycle industry. Since 1996 Dirk develops long term strategic approaches to a network of key accounts across Europe and Asia. During a trip to Zambia in 2012 Dirk decided to use his network to promote The Power of Bicycles and create leads to fundraising partners on a volunteer base. Dirk serves on the board of directors of World Bicycle Relief Germany.
Board Member – Joseph Leenhouts-Martin
Joseph Leenhouts-Martin is an expert in global public-private partnerships, fundraising, and design-thinking. In 2021, he established The Forward Group – a strategic advisory firm based in Brussels. Prior to The Forward Group, Joseph served in a variety of global organizations including Johnson & Johnson, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and the World Health Organization. Joseph holds a Master’s of Public Affairs, Non-Profit Management from Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs, a MBA Certification in Social Entrepreneurship, an advanced Certification in Fundraising Management, and a Degree in Political Science from Miami University. He is also a graphic designer, facilitator, and competitive cyclist with a passion for good espresso. Joseph lives with his partner and son in Brussels.
