We built a better bike
Engineered to go farther and do more

At the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships, bikes are lightweight and made so athletes can push their bodies to the max. But some riders need their bikes to do more.

Millions of people in rural regions of the world don’t have access to reliable transportation. They walk for hours, racing daylight, and putting their safety at risk, to reach essential services like healthcare and education.

So World Bicycle Relief asked, how can bikes best support rural communities? Meet the Buffalo Bicycle.

The Anatomy of
A Buffalo

Power is reaching more patients with your forged axle pedals.
Opportunity is charting new routes to class with your puncture-resistant tires.
Control is giving your sister a lift to school safely with all-weather coaster brakes.
Dependability is knowing your heavy-gauge steel frame will go the distance.
Strength is easily carrying 220 lbs of produce on your rear carrier.

These two wheels can be the difference between surviving and thriving. From hauling patients and critical supplies across rugged terrain to carrying students to school, the Buffalo is a workhorse.

But the rider is the true hero of this story.

"My community depends on fresh deliveries each day. One trip with my bicycle can feed around 480 people."
