F.K. Day keynote speaker at VANTAGE 2017 conference

Thomson Reuters Elite invites WBR co-founder F.K. Day addresses VANTAGE 2017 conference in Orlando.

Chicago, IL – World Bicycle Relief co-founder and CEO F.K. Day delivered the keynote speech June 7 at the Thomson Reuters Elite VANTAGE 2017 Worldwide Conference in Orlando.

His talk was entitled: “The Power of Bicycles: How listening to your end user is key to creating successful impact in business and philanthropy.”

WBR, an Elite charity partner since 2016, also had a prominent role at VANTAGE 2017. Attendees had several opportunities to learn about the organization and its business philosophy. An “Awareness Walk” sponsored by WBR demonstrated the distances a child must cover to attend school in some areas of the world.

“We are both excited and proud to be affiliated with such a worthwhile effort. World Bicycle Relief’s mission of global empowerment truly resonates with our employees, who selected it from a field of other well-respected organizations to support over the past year,” said Patrick Hurley, vice president of customer advocacy at Thomson Reuters Elite. “VANTAGE offers the perfect opportunity for our customers to get to know World Bicycle Relief.”

VANTAGE 2017, which ran June 5-8, is the premier gathering of Thomson Reuters Elite clients from across the globe. VANTAGE conferences give attendees the opportunity to meet with current and prospective clients, view product demonstrations, and interact with top firms.

F.K and Leah Missbach Day founded WBR in 2005 in response to the Indian Ocean Tsunami. The global non-profit has distributed more than 350,000 bicycles and trained over 1,600 bicycle mechanics across Africa, South America and Southeast Asia.

In rural regions of the world where transportation options are limited and distance is a barrier, access to high-quality bicycles greatly improves educational, health care and economic outcomes. With the time saved by riding a bicycle, individuals are transforming local economies and creating progressive social change within their communities.
