Specialized Limited Edition Bike To Benefit WBR

Specialized is celebrating their 40th Anniversary and World Bicycle Relief is getting in on the fun. The bicycle manufacturer is throwing back to their Steel Allez frame and auctioning 74 newly designed frames for a one-time only benefit for the Power of Bicycles!

Based in Northern California, Specialized focuses on the rider’s need for functional and technically advanced products that provide a performance benefit. They consider themselves lucky to have served the cycling community for 40 years. In honor of those decades, they’re saying ‰Û÷thank you’ by giving back (in their words) to one of the best bicycle charities. Specalized will donate 25% of all sales from the newly designed Steel Allez to World Bicycle Relief.

When Specialized started out in 1981, their engineers wanted to rethink the steel frame from the ground up. The Allez is one of the original Specialized bikes that started it all. At the time it represented the best technology a rider could get and laid a foundation for every Specialized bike since. For this Anniversary model, Specialized turned to Mark DiNucci, one of their original frame builders whose bikes continue to win global recognition and awards. For this exclusive run of 74 frames, every tube, lug, and braze-on has been examined through fresh eyes. Bryant Bainbridge, R&D manager for Specialized, explains:

Every lesson we have learned over the last 40 years has been applied to create a totally new and totally modern steel frame. Keeping with the 40th theme, we will build the 40th Anniversary Allez in the very factory that created the first Stumpjumper, a factory that continues to produce some of the finest handmade bikes in the world.
