Luz's two-wheel triumph

“I call the bike my ‘daily warrior’,” says Luz Emilise Lozano, who supervises the La Conchita Flower Farm in Bogotá, Colombia. Luz has avoided the rising costs and health concerns of public transportation during the Covid-19 pandemic thanks to her Buffalo Bicycle. She uses her bike to commute to work, travers the flower farm, and transport goods to the market. “I can put 100 kilos back here. It is my warrior!”

Dorcas pursues her dream

“Thanks to my Buffalo Bicycle—which I rode to and from school for 4 years—I excelled and attained a university entry grade,” says 19-year-old Dorcas Iliera in Kakamega, Kenya. "Now, I hope to fulfill my dream of becoming a teacher. This bicycle is a change-maker!”

An Increased Need

The communities in which we work face a steep climb to recovery from the devastating effects of Covid-19. Existing gender disparities have only increased, leaving women and girls shouldering the greatest burden.
