On his bike, DJ JaBig has traversed Canada (twice!), explored Europe, circumnavigated the U.S., ridden through Kenya, and now, he’s in the midst of a solo expedition from the northernmost cyclable point in Europe to its southernmost tip.

Throughout it all, JaBig’s adventures have had one mission: to raise $1 million to mobilize communities around the world with life-changing bicycles. 

“World Bicycle Relief struck a chord with me because their work empowers and boosts local economies. Oh, and the fact that it involves bicycles is a great bonus!” 

As an African-born Canadian, JaBig was aware of the struggles felt by many children in the different countries of his formative years. After visiting Kenya in 2022, JaBig witnessed first-hand the transformative power of his efforts.

“I can personally attest that Buffalo Bikes are life-changing, uplifting entire communities,” says JaBig. “I attended a bicycle handover ceremony and listened to a testimonial from a family. Their lives were transformed when a member became the first to attend school, made possible by a Buffalo Bicycle that rendered the school physically accessible.”

His belief in the power of bicycles is clear in his epic solo rides, but JaBig calls his current undertaking across Europe (4,600 miles!) a crucial milestone. Unlike his previous adventures, he’s not doing this one alone. Instead, JaBig’s inviting supporters to ride alongside him for as long as they’d like and then make a donation to his fundraiser for World Bicycle Relief. 

So, what’s next for JaBig? Ultimately, he says he hopes to circumnavigate the African continent, visiting World Bicycle Relief programs en route.
